Public Radio East

Public Radio East is a nonprofit, non-commercial broadcasting organization, licensed to the Board of Trustees of Craven Community College in New Bern, North Carolina. Originally established in 1984 as WTEB-89.3FM, Public Radio East now broadcasts 24 hours a day on five frequencies, divided into two complete program networks. Broadcast studios are located in Barker Hall on the campus of Craven Community College.

Public Radio East is Eastern North Carolina's primary source for classical, jazz, and Americana music. The station is recognized as a full-service professional public radio station by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and is a member of both National Public Radio and Public Radio International. In 1985, WTEB had approximately nine thousand weekly listeners. Today, over fifty thousand people listen to Public Radio East each week.

About Real Estate Donations

Public Radio East partnered with CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services) to process donations in the form of real estate assets. Properties in any location, condition, and format are eligible for donation to Public Radio East. Back taxes, mortgage balances, and deferred maintenance do not prohibit your ability to donate. Our program covers all loans, liens, commissions, and closing costs so long as there is equity in the property.

If you have a land, residential, or commercial real estate asset that is unused or costing you money, consider giving back to the station you love by donating it to Public Radio East. As a result, you may also be eligible for a significant tax deduction!
